Lucy and Iain got married in 2022, but the real star of the show (besides the 100 coloured smoke bombs) was Jess. Jess was the ring bearer and the bestest girl in the whole world.
I met Jess-Bear in 2021 when she hopped on my trunk at a wedding fayre in Leicester. I've been smitten with her ever since.
At 16 years old, Jess travelled across the country, into North Wales, past the sheep to have her very own photoshoot, and once more, we were reunited. Also thank you Lucy and Iain for driving the whole way and back.
Here at The Plassey (where The Portrait Parlour studio is), there are some charming nooks to snap a quick picture at. It's a wonderfully peaceful place for precious little moments and Jess-Bear, Iain and Lucy experienced it all.
Jess's favourite thing at The Plassey were the sticks. There's a woodland area here and there was a smorgasbord of sticks for her to choose from. She transformed into a puppy at the sight of a good stick. If a tree was loose, I'm quite certain she would've taken it.
16 years old and still flying.
As you can see, Jess is spoilt with cuddles.... until....
The story behind the images goes as such; Jess Bear was a little too curious about the pond. Jess went face first into the muddy depths of said pond.
Here she is waiting for Papa - he is currently collecting every towel, tissue wipe and heavenly scent because pond smell is not pleasant on the human nose, hence why Jess Bear is way over there, and we're way over here. We still love her though.
Here she is! All nice and clean and back in the studio as if nothing disgusting ever happened.
What a lovely journey for Jess, Lucy and Iain. All I can say is thank you for letting me photograph your story and an extra thank you for letting me know Jess-Bear, the coolest dog I ever met.
Sticks for life. Imma just lay on the stick.
What I've basically learnt from Jess is that Jess does whatever the hell she wants. And those are some good rules to live by.
Jess is not just a dog, she's completely and utterly the epitome of family, companionship and happiness. Thank you Lucy and Iain for choosing me as your photographer, you're all truly wonderful and a joy to be around.
Still can't believe you drove all the way to Wales.
